Jeanette Hines Hicks, of Texarkana (Tx) died Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at her daughters’ home surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Hicks was born April 20, 1933 in Texarkana, TX. She was a homemaker, a member of Rose Hill Church of Christ.

Jeanette made her first session in Dallas in 1953 recording songs written by Tillman Franks and Claude King. Among her releases on wax are "Still I Lost You/I Think of You and Me" (Okeh 18008), "He Knows Why" (Okeh 18021), "Lipstick on A Glass" (Okeh 4-18055), "Just Like In The Movie" (Columbia 21374), "Which One of Us to Blame/Let's Make Memories Tonight" (Columbia 4-21392 with Billy Walker), "Blue Mountain Waltz" (Columbia 21471 with Billy Walker), "Extra Extra/ Cry, Cry (It’s Good Foe You)" (Starday 271 – Oct 56), "Yearning/Cry Cry" (Mercury 71061 with George Jones) released on February 11, 1957 in USA but also in Japan on Vee-Jay W42, "I Take The Chance" (with George Jones), "Repenting" (Dixie EP 518) also issued on TOPS EP R3002 under the alias of Kitty Carson.

She was a Louisiana Hayrider since 1954, had a son born on April 14, 1954 and worked with Elvis, Jack Ford, Johnny Cash, Jimmy and Johnny, Bob Luman or James O’Gwynn. On June 27 and 28, 2003 she played a Louisiana Cast reunion with Kitty Wells, Jimmy Lee Fautheree, Alvadean & Sandy Coker, The Browns, Billy Walker and many more. She was a long time friend of Tillman Franks and she will be remembered like a fine vocalist.
